Piece together Play and Dive Hoop™.
We use our Hoops in a few different ways! The instructor can hold it upright under the water, and the children can swim through it. This will encourage them to hold their breath for longer periods of time. It will also encourage them to kick their feet hard in order to move themselves through the hoop to the other side.
The Play and Dive Hoop™ is a great tool for teaching diving. After practicing the one-legged dive from the side of the pool, we move them to the diving boards. The instructor holds the Hoop vertically in front of the board and has the student put their toes on the end of the board and dive through the Hoop. We place an object under the board and tell students to look for it as they dive, in order to get them to keep their head down. Then they can try diving over the hoop, to encourage using both legs to push off. You can also lay the Hoop flat on the surface of the water so they can dive through it.
Play and Dive Hoops™ are light weight. It doesn’t hurt if a students accidentally hits the Hoop as they are diving or swimming through it.
